Release Note - TMS 12.7

Dear TMS user,

Please note that TMS (prod.fifatms.com) was upgraded to version 12.7 today, Tuesday, 22 July 2025. In our continued efforts to support you and provide efficiency through TMS, the following new features and updates have been implemented:

Extended search before creating a new player

In line with our ongoing efforts to avoid duplicating player records, a new Extended Search function has been introduced before creating a new player in a transfer instruction in TMS.

If you cannot find a player in the TMS database, you now have the option to expand your search across Connect ID, which includes player records from the National Registration Systems (NRS) by entering key player details (first name, last name, date of birth and gender). You shall review the search results and select the correct player to be imported into TMS for your transfer.

We remind you that each player registered at a Member Association shall already have a FIFA ID assigned via Connect ID Service, in accordance with art. 5 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP).

You may create a new player only if the player cannot be found in either TMS or Connect ID. Please note that creating a new player may delay the transfer process: the former association is required to confirm or reject the newly created player and assign the corresponding FIFA ID.

You can find more information about this topic in the online Help Centre:
Stakeholders > Player details > Searching for, creating and updating players

Automatic sync of player data upon FIFA ID assignment

When the former association assigns a FIFA ID to a newly created player in the player confirmation process, TMS now automatically synchronizes the player's details from the National Registration System.

This synchronization ensures that player records are consistent, minimizes player updates and improves TMS data quality.

You can find more information about this topic in the online Help Centre:

Restriction on new club creation in professional transfers

In the same efforts to reduce data duplication, you now may create a new club profile in TMS only in the following international and domestic transfer types:

  • Engage out of contract (when there is no transfer agreement between clubs)
  • Engage amateur permanently

In all other transfer types, counter clubs must be selected from the TMS database and shall have an active TMS user able to enter a counter instruction. If you cannot find the counter club or the club does not have an active user, please contact the relevant Member Association, who may submit a new user request via TMS.

We remind Member Associations that in amateur transfers, you can edit the player’s former club and the player’s status with their former club before confirming a player or responding to an ITC request.

Thank you for taking note of this important information, which we hope has been helpful and clear. Should you have any questions, please contact the TMS Helpdesk at TMShelpdesk@fifa.org.
