How to set-up the two-step verification
The “two-step verification” functionality provides an additional security step to verify that it is really you logging in to TMS.
Once the two-step verification is enabled for your account, you will be prompted to set up this additional security step prior to accessing the system. Please follow the instructions below:
- Enter your email address, your usual password and then click “Log in”:
- Set up the two-step verification by clicking on “Set up now”:
- Select a method by which you wish to receive your security code (mobile phone number or email address):
- Enter the code received via SMS or email and click on “Confirm code”:
- Access and navigate in TMS:
Once you have set up the two-step verification, you will not be required to enter a code again when you log in from the same device and/or browser. Should you log in from a different device and/or browser, you will receive a new code to your selected method to be able to access TMS.
Not receiving the verification code
When the user logs in to TMS with a new browser and/or device, he/she will be required to enter a new verification code.
If you do not receive a code via your preferred method (email or phone), click on “Did you not receive a code?”
A new window will pop up with additional information on how to proceed. You can choose the option “Click here to receive a new code” in order to receive the code via the currently registered method.
If your two-step verification method involves receiving the code via SMS and you are unable to receive it, you can choose the option “Please click here to receive a one-time code via email”.
A verification code will be sent to the email address linked to your TMS account.
If, despite all efforts, you do not receive any verification code via SMS or email, please contact the TMS Helpdesk at TMShelpdesk@fifa.org and request a reset of the two-step verification method for your account, so that you can choose a different method. Please note that the TMS Helpdesk is available from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 Swiss local time (see Contact us).
Changing the two-step verification method
After the first setup, you can change the two-step verification method directly in TMS at any time. To do so, click on your email address and select “Change two-step verification”.
You can amend the mobile number or email address provided by clicking on the pencil icon, or alternatively change your preferred method entirely by selecting the other option.
Enter the code sent to your current device and the new email address or mobile phone number on which you would like to receive future verification codes. Select “Setup new device” in order to proceed.
Then enter the code received at your new contact information.
Once you click on “Confirm code”, you will see a confirmation message indicating that the two-step verification has been changed successfully.
